Giant Interactive Launches New SNS

Chinese online game developer and operator Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) recently launched a new SNS site, Qule.com. New users can register with registration codes supplied in invitations from current members. Qule's website states that users who possess a Giant Passport account can register, but does not specify whether they also need a registration code.

Qule resembles Chinese SNS platform Kaixin001, featuring a point-earning and exchange system, friending, browsing history, photo-sharing, blogs, virtual items, online music, and plug-ins functionality. The incorporation of plug-ins shows that Qule was designed from the beginning to be an open platform. A spokesperson for Giant Interactive declined to comment.
