Baidu Launches Two Mobile Products

Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) convened a press conference today to announce two new mobile products: Zhangshang Baidu ("Baidu Palm") and its new Baidu mobile Chinese input method editor (IME). Both products are already available for download online.

According to Baidu, Baidu Palm is a client application designed for mobile handset users that offers wireless search functionality as well as integrated access to Baidu's Postbar BBS and Baidu Knows online Q&A services. The new Baidu mobile IME, formerly known as the Dayhand Meihua IME, incorporates a Baidu search field into the IME interface.

Editor's Note: A spokesperson at Baidu said that the company would cooperate with handset vendors to pre-install these two products on handsets, establishing a revenue-sharing alliance with vendors.
