PPStream to Cut Service to Internet TVs

TechWeb, 12/18/09

Shanghai-based P2P video service provider PPS (PPStream) has announced that, in order to protect its intellectual property rights, it will sue Internet TV manufacturers that use PPStream's name as a marketing gimmick. In addition PPStream will release a mandatory upgrade to its client on December 18 that will prevent Internet television sets from using PPStream's service.

A company representative said PPStream has not authorized the use of its product by any hardware manufacturers and will not support any such products.
