Changhong Large Screen TVs to Go 3D

The Beijing News, 3/19/10

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Changhong (600839.SH) unveiled its new television product line for 2010 yesterday in Beijing, including a 3D TV that will be available around early May. The 55" 3D TV set, which requires glasses, will reportedly cost approximately RMB 30,000.

After May 1, Changhong will progressively stop manufacturing standard LED and plasma TV sets measuring 55" and above, said Lin Maoxiang, chairman of Changhong Multimedia Industry Company. Starting in the third quarter, all televisions over 50" produced by Changhong will have 3D technology, and next year all plasma display products will have 3D.
