CMMB Value-Added Services to Go Commercial in May

The China Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), operator of China's CMMB mobile TV services, has announced that it will launch commercial operation of its Jingcai-branded financial and navigation broadcast-based data services on May 1.

The navigation service provides subscribers with real-time updates on road conditions, traffic updates, and locations of interest.

The financial service offers real-time updates and long-term charting of stocks, foreign exchange, futures, and gold prices, in addition to a range of content including domestic and international finance information, news, and market analysis.

The services will first go into commercial operation in Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou, Kunming, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Shenyang, and Tianjin.
