Alibaba Officially Launches AliExpress

Chinese B2B e-commerce site Alibaba.com (1688.HK) has announced the official launch of its AliExpress English-language wholesale platform. Alibaba will take a percentage of every successful transaction, while upholding their motto "no deal, no fee." The United States is AliExpress' first target market.

Alibaba said AliExpress assists domestic suppliers in directly contacting customers worldwide, providing an integrated platform for small overseas trade companies to manage orders, payment and logistics.

VP Peng Yijie said Alibaba is entering the U.S. market with UPS and PayPal as strategic partners.

Alibaba will invest USD 100 mln in AliExpress.
