India Bans Chinese Telecom Imports

CCID, 4/30/10

Foreign media have reported that India's Department of Telecommunications has officially banned India's mobile operators from importing telecom equipment from Chinese manufacturers such as Huawei and ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ). India's Home Ministry is concerned that telecom equipment from some countries may have embedded spyware or malware that compromises India's intelligence agencies.
