Rumor: Tencent to Invest in GBS's Mango

According to an industry source, Pony Ma, founder of Chinese internet company Tencent (0700.HK), paid a personal visit to Hunan TV operator Golden Eagle Broadcasting System (GBS) last week to discuss possible cooperation with GBS's recently spun-off subsidiary, Mango International Media. Tencent may seek cooperation by investing in the company.

Official sources have yet to confirm the rumor. GSB has already begun cooperation with other internet companies including Shanda Interactive (Nasdaq: SNDA) and Taobao.
