Mastone Releases China Telecom 3G Tablet

Mastone Communication and Electrical Development, a Yangzhou-based terminal manufacturer, has released a 3G tablet computer called the Lifepad.

The Lifepad features predictive Chinese handwriting input, the Android mobile OS, built-in 3G and Wi-Fi modules, and comes with a number of software features including China Telecom's (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) E-Surfing Video, iMusic ("Ai Yinyue") and push mail support.

Mastone, established in October 2003, is a mobile communications terminal manufacturer with USD 26 mln in registered capital. The company employs 450 researchers, including 15 with PhDs or higher qualifications and 230 with master's degrees, in three major R&D centers in Yangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai.
