Aibang: Departed Staff Broke Non-Compete Agreement

Sina Tech, 7/15/10

Chinese local search site Aibang has issued a statement regarding the creation of a group buying site by former president Song Zhongjie and other employees who recently left Aibang, accusing the departed staff of violating non-disclosure and non-compete agreements and calling on them to "abide by professional ethics." Aibang said it is currently collecting evidence in preparation for fast legal recourse, but did not reveal a specific timetable for its action.

Editor's Note: Aibang recently launched its own group buying services prior to Song and others' departure. For more background on this topic, please see "Ex-Googlers from Aibang Launch Group Buy Site" MD 7/14/10 issue.
