Rumor: India Bans 25 Chinese Telecom Vendors

The Indian government has issued a list of 26 telecom equipment providers prohibited from supplying equipment for the India market, according to Indian media. The ban was reportedly formulated by India's Intelligence Bureau. India's domestic operators will temporarily halt purchases from the 26 companies pending implementation of new network security regulations. 25 of the 26 companies are Chinese firms, including Lenovo (0992.HK), Huawei, ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ), and Fiberhome Telecommunication Technologies (600498.SH).
