SASAC: China Unicom Reduces Department Count by 40%

On July 23, the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council convened a meeting of representatives from state-owned enterprises in Beijing. SASAC director Li Rongrong cited the steady and methodical progress made by China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) in restructuring and personnel optimization efforts that have reduced the number of departments at company headquarters by 40% and streamlined second-tier management by 19%.
