Rumor: SARFT Prepares to Launch National Cable TV Network

China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has reportedly established a preparatory committee to oversee the creation of a national-level cable TV network company. Deputy minister Zhang Haitao has been appointed committee chair, and SARFT Finance Department head Meng Dong, and Li Xinmin, former head of the Guizhou Provincial Radio & TV Bureau, have been appointed deputy chairs.
