MediaTek Partners with Changhong, TCL JV

According to Taiwanese media, Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company MediaTek (MTK) has formed a partnership with Changhong (600839.SH) and TCL's (000100.SZ) Guangzhou-based JV, Guangzhou Huanwang Technology, with an eye to joint development on projects that will take advantage of the opportunities afforded by China's network convergence efforts. MediaTek said that as the partnership covers a number of projects, it would be unable to comment on the partnership as a whole at press time.

Huanwang was established last December with the goal of R&D for interactive services and operations technology for screen-based terminals.
