Rumor: China Unicom Wins Exclusive iPad Deal

A source at China Unicom recently reported that though Apple has been in discussions with China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) to distribute the iPad in Mainland China, China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) will once again be Apple's exclusive partner. The source added that the iPad will most likely not be released alongside the iPhone 4 in early September, but the micro USIM card used by both terminals will be launched in tandem with the iPhone 4.
