Meizu Files Patent for Integrated Wi-Fi + Bluetooth

CCTIME, 9/06/10

Zhuhai-based handset manufacturer Meizu has filed a patent application for an integrated Wi-Fi/Bluetooth transmitter capable of transferring multiple files at a time at speeds up to 1 Mbps, ten times the speed of an ordinary handset. The application was filed in April and made public in August.

An industry source said the technology shows promise and believes the technology will give the company a six-month head start in the industry. Chinese internet users have commented that this technology could resolve Android's Bluetooth issues, where users have reported difficulty opening music and video files they received via Bluetooth.
