Qiyi Launches Cartoon Channel

Qiyi, the video subsidiary of Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), has launched a new animation channel. The new channel (http://www.qiyi.com/dongman) features a number of animated titles, including 'Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf,' 'Mei Hou Wang,' 'Chibi Maruko Chan,' 'Sleeping Beauty,' 'The Wizard of Oz,' 'Alice in Wonderland,' 'Tom and Jerry,' and 'Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse.'

Over the two months since they debuted on the site, two previously acquired 'Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf' titles received a total of 4 mln views.

Qiyi is currently partnering with a number of content providers, including the China Film Group, Huayi Brothers (300027.SZ), PolyBona, Enlight Media, Zhejiang Satellite TV, Hunan Satellite TV, Beijing Satellite TV, and South Korean company CJ Entertainment.
