Beijing Sanlitun Apple Store Sells Out iPhone 4 Stock

Beijing Times, 9/30/10

The Apple Store at the Sanlitun Village in Beijing posted a notice yesterday stating that it was out of stock of the iPhone 4, but a large number of would-be buyers remained in line outside, unwilling to leave. The store said that it had temporarily halted sales of the iPhone 4 owing to safety concerns, but that customers would still be able to purchase the iPad.

Editor's Note: For the past several days, there had been reports online of skirmishes between customers and scalpers selling places in the line outside the store. As of 9:30 AM on September 30, there was still a long line outside the store, and a large number of security personnel.
