Taobao Survey Gauges Interest in Online Loans

Southern Metropolitan News, 10/25/10

Chinese B2C and C2C e-commerce site Taobao has begun a survey to determine the extent of interest among Taobao merchants for savings, loans and virtual credit card services. The survey is believed to be connected to Alibaba Small Loan Company's aspirations to become a commercial bank. The questionnaire for the survey suggests that this bank account would be connected to the user's Alipay account, and raises the concept of a virtual credit card.
