Rumor: China Mobile's App Store Nears 60 Mln Downloads

As of October 31, China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) Mobile Market app store had recorded 59.61 mln total downloads and 25.39 mln registered users, according to a company source.
Currently, 93% of mobile applications available on Mobile Market cost between RMB 0-4 per download. Of those, 5.51% are free, while those under RMB 1 are mostly mobile themes. Overall, the average price per application is RMB 1.1, with the highest average price for mobile games (RMB 4.5), followed by general software (RMB 1.6), and themes (RMB 0.5).
