China Unicom iPhone 4 Pre-Orders Reach 600K

China Securities Journal, 11/23/10

In an interview yesterday, China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) senior VP Li Gang said that after the Apple iPhone 4 went on sale on September 25, more than 600,000 people placed pre-orders for the phone - but that about 200,000 people have yet to receive their phones, and that more pre-orders are coming in at the rate of 8,000 to 10,000 per day. Unicom has already contacted Apple about increasing phone supply, Li said. When asked about the 3G iPad, Li said that the iPad has not yet been sent to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for testing and certification.
