Giant Acquires Softstar Beijing Subsidiary, MMO

Taiwanese game developer Softstar recently announced it had sold its Beijing subsidiary Julun Network Information Technology and its 3D MMORPG Spirits of the Warriors to Chinese game developer and operator Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) for RMB 15.1 mln.

According to Softstar, Giant's recently established Beijing subsidiary Junjia Network may take control of Spirits of the Warriors. The MMORPG development team at Softstar-invested Beijing Softstar Technology has joined Giant, and expects to release Spirits of the Warriors next year.

Julun Network was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beijing Softstar Technology and was responsible for developing Spirits of the Warriors.
