Coship Wins Jiangsu TV Middleware Contract

Chinese developer and manufacturer of satellite receivers and cable and terrestrial set-top boxes (STBs) Coship Electronics (002052.SZ) was recently selected as the exclusive supplier of DTV middleware platform systems for Jiangsu Broadcasting Television Network.
Jiangsu Broadcasting has 17 mln cable TV subscribers, and had completed DTV conversion work in 13 provincial cities as of June 2010 to reach more than 10 mln total DTV subscribers and 3 mln bi-directional DTV subscribers. Coship will assist Jiangsu Broadcasting in building an integrated end-to-end middleware system platform. The platform help Jiangsu Broadcasting in the development of improved basic TV broadcasting services, DTV value-added services, bi-directional broadband services, and enterprise user network services. Once the project is completed, Jiangsu Broadcasting can select its own terminal equipment and headend equipment providers.
Coship has already deployed its solution in Shenzhen, Wuhan, Harbin, Hangzhou, Guangxi, Jilin, and Hefei.
