Rumor: Easou Wins USD 20 Mln in Funding

Chinese mobile search service provider Easou has reportedly obtained USD 20.48 mln worth of financing led by Softbank China Venture Capital, Chinese online media provider and online game developer and operator Shanda Interactive's (Nasdaq: SNDA) investment arm Shanda Capital, Taiwanese semiconductor foundry United Microelectronics Corporation's (UMC) subsidiary TLC Capital, and French investment firm Ventech Capital.

In January 2006, Easou obtained its first round of VC funding from iD TechVentures (IDT) but the amount was not disclosed. In September of that same year, Easou obtained a USD 5 mln round of VC funding from IDT and AXA Private Equity and in November 2008, IDT, AXA Private Equity and other investors, invested USD 12 mln for a 25% stake in Easou.
