Baidu Launches Online Recruitment Platform

BiaNews, 4/11/11

Chinese Internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) has entered the recruitment market with its recent launch of Baidu Rencai ("Baidu Talent"), operated by Shanghai-based subsidiary Baidu Rencai Consulting Co., Ltd. Baidu Rencai has released a "resume migration" tool, allowing users to transfer their work history and other information from competing Chinese recruitment sites such as 51job (Nasdaq: JOBS), Zhaopin and ChinaHR to the new service.

Baidu Rencai is currently in beta, and registration is open to both individuals and firms. The upper half of the main page is used to search for available positions, with the lower half given to firms to advertise openings. Baidu Rencai can currently be reached through three domains: job.baidu.com, rencai.baidu.com and zhaopin.baidu.com.

Shanghai Baidu Rencai Consulting was established in January 2010 with RMB 50 mln in registered capital, and lists Baidu CEO Robin Li as its legal representative.
