Three Dead in Foxconn iPad 2 Plant Explosion

An explosion occurred at a polishing workshop in Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn's (2038.HK; 2354.TW) Chengdu production facility on May 20, leaving three people dead and 16 more injured, two of whom were seriously wounded. The plant has halted production in all workshops that carry out similar processes.

The factory started production in October last year and mainly produces Apple's iPad Tablet. The plant may resume production as early as this week.

Editor's note: The explosion occurred in a building where Apple's iPad 2 was being manufactured.
