Guangdong Unicom, Tencent Partner on Mobile IM

Guangdong Unicom has announced users of its campus-oriented 3G brand "Wo Pai" ("Wo Clique") will not be charged for local data usage when using Tencent's (0700.HK) Kik-clone "Weixin" mobile IM service. Users who subscribe to a Wo Pai package before December 31, 2011, will be able to use the mobile IM service within Guangdong province with no data fees for 24 months, including exchanging text, images, audio, and video.
