Rumor: Lenovo Brand Communications GM Resigns

An industry source has revealed that Chen Danqing, general manager of brand communications at Chinese laptop, PC, and handset manufacturer Lenovo (0992.HK), will soon step down. VP Arthur Wei will assume Chen's responsibilities.
Chen began managing the brand communications department in 2009, when Lenovo was recording significant losses as a result of the influence of the financial crisis. Chen's team took the lead in publicizing Lenovo's progress from loss to loss reversal to rapid growth in profits. Sources have claimed that she plans to join an internet company, however this has not been confirmed.
Arthur Wei came to Lenovo in 2007 from Hewlett Packard, where he was the director of brand marketing.
Editor's Note: Lenovo has confirmed to Sina Tech that Arthur Wei, VP and former COO of the company's Emerging Market Group, has been appointed VP of China region brand communications. Wei will report directly to VP and China region GM Chen Xudong. According to an industry insider, Chen Daqing has left the company to join Chinese online security software developer Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU).
