Beijing Unicom Offers Broadband Accelerator Software

China Unicom's (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) Beijing branch has announced that it is conducting a live beta of its broadband upgrade software "Unicom Supin." Unicom broadband ADSL users on postpaid billing accounts can now use the Unicom Supin software to up to double their broadband connection speeds for no extra charge. For example, users who were originally on a 2 Mbps broadband connection can now experience connection rates of up to 4 Mbps. Users can experience the increased connection speed for up to 72 hours a month, up until the end of the beta on December 31, 2011.
