Figures released by China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) yesterday show that as of November 2011, its Mobile Market (MM) mobile app store had a total of 149 mln registered users, 102,000 aggregated mobile software products, games and theme applications, and handled a total of 490 mln downloads. Growth of the platform slowed slightly in November, during which it had a net increase of 10 mln registered users and handled 30 mln downloads.
As of November 2011, 86.7% of apps in Mobile Market were priced at RMB 3 or less (including those which were free). The average price that month was RMB 2; the average for game apps was RMB 6.3, for software apps RMB 2.6, and for theme apps RMB 0.8.
