Proview Requests Ban on iPad 3 Import/Export

Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, 3/08/12

Xie Xianghui, the lawyer for Shenzhen-based Proview International Holdings (0334.HK) subsidiary Proview Technology, said today that despite Apple's US announcement today of the third-generation iPad, Proview has already contacted customs authorities at more than ten port cities around China to request a block on imports and exports of the tablet. As the Higher People's Court of Guangdong Province has yet to issue a final verdict in the iPad trademark dispute case between Proview and Apple, Xie said, Apple could make itself liable, should it lose the case, for increased damages and fines by going ahead with the launch of the new iPad.
