SAIC to Launch Blacklist System for Websites

Hebei Youth Daily, 3/12/12

Yang Hongfeng, deputy director of the market division of China's State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC), today announced SAIC will introduce a blacklist of websites involved in illegal activities such as online infringement and sale of counterfeit products. SAIC will advise the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) to close the sites and ban them from the national online marketplace. SAIC will build a national integrated network management and informatization platform, and review company information such as net assets, asset-to-debt ratios, and credit history to evaluate sites' overall trustworthiness.
