SARFT Bans Controversial Celebrities from TV

Li Wei, deputy director of China's State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT), said during a television industry forum event that internet and media celebrities or people involved in scandals will not be allowed to appear on TV shows as guests. In addition, reality shows will not be able to use "aggressive" language and make inappropriate jokes as a way to boost ratings.
