Rumor: Google to Sell Motorola Handset Business to Huawei

CCTIME, 4/12/12

Industry sources have revealed that Google may be planning to sell its recently acquired handset business, Motorola Mobility, to Chinese telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer Huawei, according to a recent Wall Street Journal report. Google announced it would acquire Motorola Mobility for USD 12.5 bln in August 2011, since which time the transaction has received all regulatory approvals, including those from EU and US trade authorities.

There is no indication that Huawei is interested in the deal and the authenticity of the rumors is not verifiable.
