China Releases List of Energy-Efficient TVs to Receive Subsidies

China's Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) have published a list of energy-efficient flat-panel televisions to be promoted under the government's subsidy program. The list contains 1,460 models of flat-panel televisions from 15 manufacturers.

With 190 LCD TVs and 54 plasma TVs, Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Changhong (600839.SH) had the most products listed of any manufacturer. Other domestic companies included Haier, TCL Corporation (000100.SZ), Konka (200016.SZ, 000016.SZ), and Hisense (600060.SH). Overseas manufacturers including Samsung, LG, Sharp, and Sony also made the list.
