Chinese Gaming Browser Provider Lands First-Round Funding

Wang Cheng, CEO of Chenkang Technology, revealed today that the Beijing-based browser maker secured a RMB eight-figure sum in first-round funding in August 2011 from a source he declined to name. Chenkang's main product is Caiyun, a gaming browser that currently has more than 5 mln registered users and over 100,000 monthly active users.

Based on a web browser engine, Caiyun allows users to add account data for multiple sites for one-click access to games and one-click logins, and features game acceleration and game account synchronization, among other features. Caiyun currently offers more than 600 browser games through joint operation partnerships.

Chenkang Technology was established in 2009 and entered the browser game industry in 2010. In addition to the Caiyun browser, the company also offers browser game optimization and acceleration tools, a social cloud-based chat tool for browser games, and the Caiyun.com vertical gaming portal.
