Rumor: Huawei May Dismiss Terminal Head

An industry source close to Chinese telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer Huawei revealed recently that Huawei SVP and chairman of Huawei Device Richard Yu may be "let go" later this year owing to unhappiness with his high media profile and his involvement in the media battle between Beijing-based Android handset developer Xiaomi and Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU). The source said that Yu's flamboyant media tactics clashed with Huawei's low-key style, and had been quietly criticized within the company, adding that Huawei and even the marketing and PR divisions of Huawei Terminal had not gone fully along with Yu's media battles.
