Netease Unveils Free Game Accelerator App

Chinese online game developer and operator Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) recently announced its new free "Netease UU" online game accelerator software. The app reduces latency by allowing users to use P2P accelerator servers and find the optimum route to game servers.

Online game accelerators are typically fee-based services or limited use free services due to the scale of necessary server and broadband resources. Sichuan Xunyou Network Technology, for example, charges RMB 20 per month for its game acceleration service.
