Chinese online media and game operator Shanda Interactive's cloud computing products website, Grand Cloud, has announced that some user data has been lost due to physical hard drive failure. Grand Cloud advised users that "since it is difficult to prevent hard disk failure, users should establish backups outside of Grand Cloud's services in order to prevent data loss."
