Netease Exceeds 500 Mln E-Mail Users

Chinese internet company Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) has announced that its e-mail services currently have over 500 mln users, including more than 100 mln active users. The number of mobile e-mail users reached nearly 60 mln, and Netease plans to soon release an Android mobile e-mail app.

Netease today released version 5.0 of Netease E-Mail, which uses HTML5, CSS3, Netease's self-developed fifth-generation AJAX engine, OPOA architecture, and an improved database of optional plugins.

The new version also incorporates voice recognition input and "mailbox hotspot" features.
