Rumor: Xiaomi to Launch Smart TV

Beijing-based Android handset developer Xiaomi is making preparations to launch a smart TV set, having procured necessary materials ahead of schedule according to an industry source. CEO Lei Jun seeks to release the TV on the Chinese market as soon as possible. The source added that Xiaomi plans to use the bulk of its USD 216 mln in third-round funding for R&D and operations of the new smart TV business.
