Rumor: China Mobile Invests in iFlytek

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has reportedly completed due diligence and signed an agreement to strategically invest in Chinese voice recognition software firm Anhui USTC iFlytek (002230.SZ). China Mobile and iFlytek were unavailable for comment.
Editor's Note: In an official announcement, China Mobile stated that it is in preliminary discussions to possibly invest in iFlytek, but emphasized it has not yet entered into any agreement, and the proposed transaction does not involve acquisition of a controlling stake in iFlytek.
