Shandong Invests RMB 25 Mln in Huhutong DBS TV Project

The Shandong Province Finance Bureau has invested RMB 25 mln in an effort to deploy the "Huhutong" rural direct-broadcast satellite (DBS) connectivity project in areas beyond the reach of standard cable TV services to provide free TV reception to 200,000 households. Once completed, households covered by the project will receive 25 TV channels, including CCTV and local stations, and 17 radio stations.
The Shandong Province Finance Bureau has already budgeted the necessary funds and will purchase equipment in a single provincial-level procurement tender to be distributed to cities throughout the province.
