China Telecom, Unicom Lower Price of iPhone 4, iPhone 4S

China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) and China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) have announced that they will lower the price of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S in China.

On September 14, China Unicom lowered the price of the iPhone 4 8GB by RMB 600 to RMB 3,088; the iPhone 4S 16GB is now priced at RMB 4,488, down RMB 511; the iPhone 4S 32GB and 64GB are now RMB 5,288 and RMB 5,988, respectively.

Beginning September 19, China Telecom will sell the naked iPhone 4S 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB at RMB 4,488, RMB 4,688, and RMB 4,888, respectively. Customers purchasing the iPhone 4S 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB on contract from China Telecom will pay 4,880, RMB 5,380, and RMB 5,780, respectively, with the purchase price then being credited towards calling time.

Both China Unicom and China Telecom are working to provide iPhone users the ability to either swap their current SIM cards for an iPhone 5 supported nano-SIM card or purchase one outright.
