Qunar Monthly Air Ticketing Revenue Surpasses Ctrip

Netease Tech, 9/21/12

Yang Wei, VP of Chinese Internet firm Baidu's (Nasdaq: BIDU) online travel services subsidiary Qunar, has announced that the site's monthly air ticketing revenue has surpassed that of rival Ctrip (Nasdaq: CTRP), but said he could not disclose specific revenue figures.

Qunar's business model differs from Ctrip's, relying on cost-per-click (CPC) referrals that average several RMB per click.

According to a source within Qunar, the company has postponed its IPO until next year, adding its staff has grown from over 100 to 1,500 over the past year.
