China Exempts Next-Gen Display Components from Import Taxes

China's Ministry of Finance, General Administration of Customs (GAC), and State Administration of Taxation have issued a Notice on Further Tax Incentives for China's Next Generation Display Manufacturers, stating that imported components for new display devices (including TFT-LCD, plasma, and organic LED) that are domestically unavailable as well as materials for R&D and production for such devices will be exempt from import duties and VAT.
