Huawei Device to Operate 3,000 Retail Stores by Year-End

Wang Weijun, president for the China region of telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer Huawei's terminal subsidiary Huawei Device, announced today that Huawei Device will operate a total of more than 3,000 Huawei Device retail stores, with nearly 4,000 employees, by the end of 2012. Huawei Device currently operates retail stores in Beijng, Shanghai, Guanzhou, and Shenzhen.

Huawei Device currently has mobile handset sales partnerships with over 600 retailers, including Chinese mobile phone retailer D.Phone and consumer electronics and home appliances retailers Suning (002024.SZ) and Gome. According to Wang, Huawei is looking to expand its presence across all of China's provinces and into the e-commerce market.
