17173.com, 9/27/12

Beijing-based online game developer and operator Kunlun Wanwei has announced it will pursue a three-prong gaming strategy focused on client, browser, and mobile games, and will simultaneously launch its licensed fantasy MMORPG The Exorcist and a mobile version of the game on October 19.

Fang Han, CTO and VP of Kunlun Wanwei, disclosed that the company already offers over 30 browser games on its own platform Kunlun.com (operated by subsidiary Brothersoft), and has launched mobile gaming portal 1mobile.cn and its first mobile game Fengyun Sanguo for iOS and Android. Last year, Kunlun launched its licensed 3D cartoon-style MMORPG RO3.

Fang added that The Exorcist is Kunlun's major PC client game for H2 2012 and the company has invested RMB 60 mln in the project. To promote the game in October, Kunlun has purchased RMB 1 mln worth of iPhone 5 smartphones to award as prizes to players, and has invited celebrities to serve as digital spokespeople.
