China Mobile Reduces International Roaming Fees for Five Countries

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) announced on October 31 that as of November 1 it will lower international roaming rates by an average of 52.35% for calls placed in the United States, Indonesia, the Philippines, Austria, and Sweden. Rates for calls placed from Indonesia to Mainland China will fall from RMB 29.99 to RMB 2.99 per minute, and roaming data fees will be lowered from RMB 0.05 per KB to RMB 0.01 per KB. Rates for roaming calls placed over AT&T from the United States to Mainland China will fall from RMB 4.99 per minute to RMB 0.99 per minute, while incoming call rates will drop from RMB 2.99 per minute to RMB 0.99 per minute.
