China Mobile: 2012 LBS Base Revenue to Reach RMB 500 Mln

Li Hui, GM of China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) LBS base, revealed today that the base will take in more than RMB 500 mln in revenues for 2012, driving roughly RMB 2 bln in output value for related mapping, positioning, software development and terminal manufacturing businesses. Plans call for the LBS base to expand revenues to RMB 10 bln by 2015, driving roughly RMB 40 bln in associated output value.
China Mobile's LBS base has released a number of products, including "Chewutong" (vehicle location tracking), 12585 (audio driving directions), mobile navigation, "Qinqingtong" (family member tracking), "Ping'an Xiao Che" ("Safe School Bus"), and "Sifatong" ("Justice Expert," a tracking, geo-fencing, and surveillance application for law enforcement), and has developed partnerships with China Mobile's internet base, game base, and several external internet companies.
